Information Collection and Use
Al Quran Video does not require you to create an account, and we do not operate our own user-profile database to collect names, emails, or passwords from you.
Some features need limited data so they can work — for example location for prayer times and Qibla, or amounts you enter into the Zakat calculator. Where that data leaves your device, it goes to the third-party services listed below, solely to provide those features.
The app also uses third-party SDKs (advertising, messaging, billing, analytics libraries) that may collect information used to identify your device according to their own policies.
Permissions and Feature Data
Depending on how you use the app, Android may ask for the following permissions:
- Internet & network state — to load Quran videos, prayer and calendar data, ads, optional AI features, update checks, and other online content.
- Approximate / precise location — used when you open Prayer Times, Qibla Finder, or Hijri Calendar. Coordinates are used to request prayer times and Hijri calendar data from the API and to calculate Qibla direction. The last known coordinates may be stored on your device so prayer times can refresh and reminders can stay accurate in the background. Location is requested only when needed for those features; you can deny permission (those features may not work fully).
- Notifications — optional prayer reminders, a daily Quran-reading reminder, and general app announcements. You control these in the app’s notification settings and in system settings.
- Exact alarms & boot completed — so local prayer and reading reminders can fire on time and be restored after restart.
- Vibration — optional haptic feedback for reminders and the Tasbeeh counter.
- Advertising ID (AD_ID) — used by Google AdMob for personalized or non-personalized advertising, subject to your device ad settings and AdMob’s policies.
- Device sensors (compass) — accelerometer and magnetometer readings stay on-device to drive the Qibla compass UI; they are not uploaded by us.
Data Stored on Your Device
Preferences and progress are stored locally (for example SharedPreferences and a local database), including items such as:
- Theme selection and premium entitlement cache
- Bookmarks, last listening / reading position, and reading streak
- Notification and prayer-reminder toggles
- Saved prayer-time cache and last location used for timings
- Tasbeeh / zikr counts and goals
- Quiz session stats used to vary questions
This on-device data is for app functionality. It is not uploaded to T09 App Studio servers as a personal profile. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes it.
Third-Party Services
We may use third-party companies to help deliver the Service (ads, messaging, payments, APIs, content). Those providers process data under their own privacy policies. Key services used by the current app include:
- Google AdMob — banner, interstitial, native, and rewarded ads (ads are disabled while Premium is active). Privacy
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — optional push topics for app updates and announcements. Privacy
- Google Play Billing — Premium subscriptions and purchase restoration. Privacy
- Google Gemini API — when you use Islamic Quiz or Zakat Calculator AI advice, prompts you trigger (quiz topic/settings or financial figures you enter) are sent to Google’s generative AI service to produce a response. Google Privacy Policy
- Aladhan API — prayer timings and Hijri calendar data using your latitude/longitude. Aladhan
- YouTube / Google — video thumbnails and playback for Quran and related videos. Privacy
- Embedded / linked sites
We may also check a hosted version file and use a hosted player page to support playback and updates. Those hosts may receive standard technical logs (such as IP address) like any website.
